Venue: Sundial Beach Resort & Spa

Our annual Do Good Together fundraising campaign has begun! During the month of August, when you choose Complete Weddings + Events for DJ, photography, lighting or photo booth, 3% of your purchase goes to an important cause, PLUS you’ll be entered to win FREE videographer services at your wedding or event!

Complete Weddings + Events has been in partnership with Global Partners in Hope (GPiH) for the last six years, and 3% of sales is donated to our Do Good Together initiative every August. This money has helped build 5 clean water wells in remote areas of Mali and Togo, West Africa. Last year alone, we raised $50,000 with the help of Complete staff, customers and wedding partners.

In 2017, we shifted our focus from water wells to raising money to build a medical center in Togo. The money raised was dedicated towards building 2 rooms: The Neonatal and Women’s Recovery room. To accomplish this goal, we invited our wedding partners nationwide to participate and will do the same this year.

This fall, we’re raising the bar and have set a goal to raise $75k for the Do Good Together initiative. This year’s money will go towards helping GPiH bring their $3.2 million Medical Center campaign to completion. Once all of the money has been raised, then the construction of the medical center will begin.

In addition to raising money for these campaigns, we have sent a Complete team to Togo the past 4 years.  There, our teams met the families, women and children being impacted by these efforts. We personally got to see lives being changed from the wells providing clean water to thousands of people in the area.

Global Partners in Hope, Complete Weddings + Events, and the Wedding Industry will continue working together to provide sustainable growth in the area of Togo, West Africa. Thank you for joining us on this Do Good Together campaign!

What it Means to “Be Awesome”

Complete strives daily to live by a very simple tagline: “Be Awesome”. It’s just two simple words, but to us, it says a ton! To us, “Be Awesome” means to go above and beyond expectations and provide the best product that we possibly can. Here are a few things we do that we think defines “Be Awesome”.

Be There

Be there means that we’re present at your event. This doesn’t mean we’re just physically at your event, but mentally as well. No matter what goes on in our lives, we’re more than willing to drop everything because being there for your wedding or event for a few hours is essential. Without being there in every way we can, there’s no possible way for us to make your night awesome — and we definitely want to make your night awesome!

Choose Your Attitude

We know that an attitude effects the entire night of your event. A DJ who has a bad attitude could set a depressing tone for your wedding night. Our Florida DJs, photographers, videographers, and photo booth attendants choose their attitude for each event to set a positive tone!

Make Their Day

This is what we’re all about! This is the most visible part of each our services. We want to make your wedding or event extremely special. Being there and choosing our attitude are just the building blocks of making your day. However, when we are able to actually make your day with our services, that’s the finished product!

Have Fun

Having fun is the cherry on top of it all. We don’t absolutely need to have fun, but we’re fully aware that when we have fun, you have fun. That’s why at every event we do, we all have fun! We want to make sure to set a great tone for any event we’re lucky enough to provide services to.

We love what we do and want to bring our “Be Awesome” attitude to any wedding or event. Check out our website to get more info on all of our services and check to see if we’re available for your date!

Wedding Planning Mistakes to Avoid

Planning a wedding can be overwhelming and time seems to fly during the process! Because things come at you fast in this time, it’s easy to make a few mistakes. You may be trying to save money or time, but there are just some things you shouldn’t cut corners on! Here are a seven mistakes to avoid:

  1. Assuming Invited Guests Will RSVP “No”

There’s a good chance that you’ve created a list of people you’re going to invite and a list of people you expect to attend. You may even give your caterer and reception venue a number of attendance based off of the people you expect to say “no”! However, there are going to be a few people that will likely surprise you and end up attending your wedding. Don’t count anyone out, if you don’t want to exceed a number of guests then simply don’t invite those guests!

  1. Allowing Others to Tell You Who to Invite

If you’ve already decided on a wedding venue, then you’re likely limited to the amount of people you can invite to your wedding. Plus, with catering and other expenses it may be expensive when you start inviting every single person you’ve ever met! With that being said, remember that your wedding IS your wedding after all. You go ahead and invite who you want to invite, and don’t let others tell you who you should/shouldn’t invite!

  1. Skipping the Hair/Makeup Trial Run

You never truly know what you’ll look like after the hair/makeup makeover until all is said and done. So, shouldn’t you at least go in and try things out to make sure you have the look you’re going for? Makeup artists and hairstylists create dramatically beautiful looks, but if all that eye shadow and volume isn’t you, make those decisions ahead of time.

  1. Allowing Cellphones During the Ceremony

Your ceremony should only include one photographer, the one you hired. (Hire two professional photographers if you want extra stunning shots!) Trust us, no one else will capture a better picture, and someone is bound to forget to turn their phones on silent and keep the flash off. The LAST thing you want is for your great aunt to ruin the ceremony by blinding the officiant with her iPhone’s flash!

  1. Letting Others Talk You into Traditions You Don’t Want!

The chicken dance, the dollar dance, receiving line, etc. There are so many things that could go into a wedding that you either love or you hate. With that being said, if you’re all for the chicken dance at your wedding, don’t let anyone tell you to cut it! However, if you can’t stand the dollar dance and everyone tries to tell you to add it, don’t listen to them! This night is about YOU; don’t allow anyone to sway your opinion.

  1. Second Guessing Choices Made

With so many choices being made and so many options, it can be easy to second guess decisions you’ve already made. If you second guess the choices you’ve already made, then all you’ll be doing during your planning process is second guessing! We urge you to be sure of the choices you make, but once you make those choices be confident in them! Otherwise you’ll only add stress to the process.

  1. Not Hiring Top Notch Vendor

The vendors you hire act as a team on your wedding night. One weak link on the team could ruin all the great plans you’ve set for the evening. Don’t cut corners when it comes to hiring wedding vendors. Be sure they work well together, are super-experienced with weddings, and have great reviews!

We hope these tips will help ease your wedding planning. We urge you to be sure of your decisions made, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Most importantly, have fun throughout the process because it only happens once!

Why Bridal Shows are a Must!

If you’re engaged and getting married within the next year or two, you need to be sure to make it out to one of Florida’s upcoming bridal shows! Bridal shows should be a priority to all engaged couples, and here’s why:

1. Bridal shows give you the best chance to shop and compare different wedding cakes, catering venues, photographers, etc. You’ll get the chance to taste the food, see what your pictures might look like, and get a real vision for what your wedding will look like. Bridal shows give you the best chance at really comparing each and everything you’ve been considering so that you can make the absolute best decision possible.

2. You’re also going to have the best chance at saving the most money by making it out to a bridal show or two. Every wedding vendor is going to price their products down at bridal shows by quite a bit! By making sure to stop at the bridal shows, you’re going to be sure to save yourself a ton of money by booking your vendors at these bridal shows!

3. The final reason, and really the most fun reason, is that you’ll get to have an afternoon planning your wedding! Wedding planning SHOULD be fun, but a lot of things can get in the way of that. By making it out to a bridal show, you should let yourself relax, visit all the different vendors and just have fun with it!

Make sure you make it out to at least one of the upcoming bridal shows! July 8th we’ll be at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club . Stop by the Complete weddings + events booth, we’ll be running deals to save you some serious money, and you can even meet some of our top people, see footage of wedding videos, and see pictures taken by our photographers! We hope to see you there!
